Day 3 – Soft Curled Side Ponytail

Update: The soft curls are created with blue flexi rods.  I use 4 rods in 4 parted sections...(see picture below)...

 I roll my hair like this every night when I straighten my own hair at home

    How long can you truly go before you need to wash your hair?

    I had mini twists in for two weeks and change and my hair needed to be washed so I had taken them out last night.

      Hi alx! Personally, I can go a good month without washing, maybe more but I like to keep my scalp clean. How often you wash, depends on your scalp and scalp health, the products you use and so on. Even since I learned about pH balance for the hair and scalp a few years ago, I can go longer without washing. I cleanse my scalp with a baking soda scrub every 1 to 2 months and follow with an ACV rinse. I don't oil my scalp at all (It hasn't been oiled in about 3 years!). In addition to that, I don't use a lot of product, which cuts down on buildup.

      When I wear twist for a long period of time, for some reason, I need to wash every 2 weeks. Maybe due to the slight tension/pressure on my scalp but it gets itchier quicker...weird!

      I have a natural hair friend that only washes her hair every 2 months, which amazes me.

      Thank you so much for the compliment! The bun helped a little but the soft curls came from my blue flexi rods. I finger part my hair into four sections and roll each section with a rod. I added an update and pic which provides a better explanation. God Bless!
